The government of Canada has opened its arms for international students who are looking to continue their higher education at a country that offers quality education, safe environment, and unlimited opportunities.

But before you get into an academy, institution, college, or University, you will have to undergo a medical test, document verifications, and many more so you could obtain a study permit.

What Is A Study Permit Canada?

First of all, a study permit is not a visa, it is a document that is issued by the CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) which allows students to continue their higher education in Canada. If you have a student permit, you are required to complete your education before your permit expires.

But before you get allowed to enter Canada, you will need to have a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa).

Note: Your study permit will allow you to study in Canada, and your Temporary Resident Visa will allow you to enter Canada.

Here are some documents that you will need to submit when applying for a study permit:

  • Letter of acceptance from school, institution, college, university, or academy

To prove you are fluent in English, students are required to take the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam. IELTS is the world’s most popular English Language Proficiency Test that is used for work, study, and migration purposes

To prove you are fluent in French, students and migrants are required to undergo the TEF (Test d’évaluation du français), which is a test that checks the fluency of a person.
